Not much to update today. The docs are discussing taking the breathing tube out Friday or this weekend. Possibly Saturday now because secretions were tested yesterday because they were greenish and they did grow a germ. They aren't treating her for pneumonia but something called tracheitis, (not sure if spelling is correct). This is basically germs from the foreign tubes being down her throat. This isn't terribly worrisome, but they have her on meds for this. She is scheduled for a head and spine MRI tonight around 7pm to check for more tumors. Not that we think there are some but if this is a spreading type of tumor then we need to find out if there are more. Lets hope and pray there aren't any more tumors anywhere else. The CT scan from yesterday afternoon came back good with no more swelling than there was yesterday.
Ellie has pretty much been sleepy all day. Last night she got a bath in bed, clean clothes, sheets and blanket. She was pretty clean when we got here this morning. She hasn't been very alert or awake much today so we haven't gotten to enjoy her like yesterday. Maybe this evening she'll be awake more. Ellie has received many gifts today. We are excited to let her open them and play with the activities and stuffed animals when she is off the breathing tube.
Now we will talk to ENT so if there's anything to report I'll do it later. Good evening all.
