A big goal for the day! Daddy is a great encourager. Ellie doesn't fight him much when he asks her to do things.
This was the first step to getting ready to get into a chair. She practiced sitting on the side of the bed twice before we ventured out of the bed and room. The second time she sat up she was stronger than the first.
Today our goal was to get Ellie out of the bed and have her sit up some. She likes wheelchair rides so we got her into a wheelchair and took her for a ride around PICU. She didn't smile or look enthused but in bed when we were talking about it she was smiling about it.

The Toths came to visit this afternoon. Dasha is Ellie's friend from church. So when Ellie was ready we got her into the wheelchair to sit up for a while and go see the fish tank. Ellie slid down to the side at one point but quickly used her arm to catch herself. This was good to see. It was even on her right side which is a bit weaker.
Pardon the diaper, but I wanted to show her standing and walking to the bed. She does have a catheter in still. We are hoping to take it out tonight. (TMI too much information I know, sorry)Ellie is working her way up to walking so she moved from the wheelchair to the bed with daddy holding her. She stood up then she wanted to go to the bed right away so she turned herself and quickly headed for the bed. She's strong enough to get herself to the bed. We have found that she does things just fine when she wants to but if we ask many times we have to coax/talk her into it. This is the Ellie we know.
I have been trying to put a blog in but it has not worked so far. Just want you to know that we are praying for you guys and that we miss seeing you in the DayCare. God Bless you guys for the strength you have. God has blessed you with patience and strength. Always keep the faith. God will never leave you or forsake you. He is taking care of Ellie in a big way. His healing power is so strong. Day after day you will see more healing in Ellie. I believe this with all my heart. Let me know if there is something specific you would like us to put on the prayer chain. God Bless you guys. Please tell Ellie we miss her and we love her.
